Your Path to Owning an Applebee’s Franchise


We’ve designed our franchise approval process to be thorough but straightforward, ensuring you have all the information and support you need at every step. Here’s what to expect:

Initial Interest

  • Completion of Request for Consideration form to see if you meet our basic qualifications.
  • If qualified, we’ll provide a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) for your review and signature.
  • Once signed, we’ll send you the Franchise Application to complete.

Application & Review

  • Submit a fully completed Franchise Application, including financial statements and a resume. NOTE: All partners and investors must submit applications.
  • We conduct a credit and background check.

Development Planning

  • Decide whether you want to develop a single restaurant or multiple locations.
  • Submit a detailed business plan for review.

Interviews & Approvals

  • Meet with a Regional Director or the VP of Operations to discuss your experience.
  • Visit the Dine Brands Restaurant Support Center in Pasadena, Calif. to meet key executives and discuss your vision.
  • Our executive team then reviews your application for final approval.
